Spinning all around πŸ”„

The children have been exploring different things that spin.  A “lazy Susan” is a popular item used in our classroom.  We use to experiment with it, to test with it and even engage in creative activities with it.  Today one of the children used it to spin, making it go fast and waiting for it to slow down.  When asked what else spins in the classroom he found a wooden spin table and a plastic sorting container too.  He spun all three things around on the table and had them spinning at the same time. He was testing speed (fast and slow), time (which one spun for the shortest  amount in of time and the longest amount of time) and also he discovered that if he interrupted the spinning motion with his hands it would cause it takes stop.
