Slippery Day!

We were thrilled to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather! After some frigid temperatures, it was nice to get out and enjoy playing outdoors. There was still some ice on the playground but that didn’t stop us! At first, the slippery surfaces were tricky for the preschoolers to maneuver on. Once we were out for a while, they were keeping their balance much better! The children were laughing as they fell and helped each other up . Learning how to fall is actually important for child development. Some friends even made a game of it, seeing who’s fall was the funniest. 😂

Children are highly motivated to play in risky ways, but they are also very good at knowing their own capacities and avoiding risks they are not ready to take, either physically or emotionally.Psychology Today
